First afternoon session a yawner
Well, that was a disappointing first set of games. No upsets, no last-minute tension, no Gus Johnson call that you’ll search for on YouTube later. There was no reason even to call any friends except to tell them I saw a dude sing Fiona Apple’s “Criminal” — the first line is “I’ve been a bad, bad, girl” — at a karaoke deal last night. And he was totally into it. High comedy.

Last Saturday, my friend Sandy Zitkus and I, along with my daughter Anne McLachlan, made an annual trip to Atlanta where we usually hit IKEA for our household needs and some Christmas gifts, as well as Trader Joe’s where we pick up a heft supply of Charles Shaw wine, lovingly known as Two-Buck Chuck for it’s extremely low price of $2.49 per bottle.
