Man pleads guilty to child rape

A man pleaded guilty today to two counts of child rape before the jury in his trial got the chance to deliberate.

Napoleon White will spend 20 years in prison pursuant to his plea deal with Hamilton County prosecutors.

Indicted in early 2007 for the 2006 incident in which a 7-year-old said Mr. White raped him twice, Mr. White had constantly maintained his innocence and had gone through three defense attorneys before starting his trial Tuesday in Hamilton County Criminal Court.

The victim, now 9, confidently testified Wednesday about what Mr. White had done to him. According to the child, Mr. White was baby-sitting him and his siblings while their mother was out with friends. At 4 a.m. the boy told his mother that Mr. White had “fiddled” him and stuck his “thing” is his bottom.

The mother said she called police immediately.

Authorities arrest Mr. White about four months later when forensic testing reveled the presence of Mr. White’s DNA inside the victim’s anal cavity.
