When will we see recovery?

Included in this article:      1 Comment

Some politicians are claiming the recession is "over." We wish we could believe them. But with car sales down, home sales down and unemployment lingering at 9.8 percent, it's impossible to support any claim that recovery is really here.

But didn't Congress recently vote a big "stimulus" bill to bail us out of recession?

Hasn't the spending of billions of dollars in borrowed money given substantial artificial economic respiration to our floundering economy?

Well, some of the money has been spent or earmarked for lots of "pork" and other unproductive projects, not producing recovery.

And some of the money hasn't been spent yet.

But there are lots of claims from Washington about "jobs saved" and "jobs created."

The trouble is that if you ignore the big claims and try to nail down where those alleged jobs are, they can't be found.

When will we see some real recovery?

It would come sooner if our senators and representatives did more of the "right" things and quit doing so many of the "wrong" things which discourage recovery.

Washington is still taxing much, spending too much and regulating too much. All such things are discouraging really productive economic recovery, instead of promoting it.

If you can't believe the phony government figures about alleged recovery, when can you believe there is some real recovery?

Look at our bad jobless figure -- 9.8 percent. Real "full" employment would be about 5 percent unemployment, because about that many people, industries and businesses are normally in a state of change even in good times. So when "real" recovery begins, we'll know it because that 9.8 percent jobless rate will begin to be reduced toward 5 percent -- but probably not till then.

Who is going To Solve the Problems?

We've invaded two countries,
With our military fighting in Iraq &
Afghanistan for six and over eight years.
Our Nation is in a recession, many people are without jobs and Health care Insurance.
The number of people living in Poverty is increasing. Yet, it seems that too many people only have one thing on their minds. That is the changing of the power in the White House and in Congress again as if it is going to "fix" all of the problems this Nation is in.
Is there anyone who does not have a true Opinion as to why this Country is in the crisis conditions and circumstances that it is?
How many people really believe that the crisis conditions of this country have been caused in the last ten months by the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress?
Since many of the country's crises occurred on the last administration's terms, then which Party can we expect to do what is best for the country and the people?
Why are so many against President Obama and his administration succeeding in developing a long range plan for getting our Nation out of these crisis conditions? Is it because they do not agree with the tactics, policies or the strategies he is using or is it because they just do not want this Democratic President to succeed regardless of what the conditions of the country and the people?

Republicans Gloating over a win of two state Governors does not solve any of this Nation's problems or the problems of the states either. SO, right now we are not in a deep depression, but if the Republicans were in power what would they have done differently than the Obama Administration or would we already be in a deep depression?
