Chattanooga: Corrections officer arrested for assault, kidnapping

A Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office corrections officer was arrested Monday night and booked on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and kidnapping, Chattanooga police said today.

Crystal Zeppa told Chattanooga police she was held against her will inside Corrections Officer Robert Johnson’s apartment at 5873 Lake Resort Terrace, said police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval in a news release.

Ms. Zeppa said Mr. Johnson dragged her back into the apartment by her hair as she attempted to leave, put a gun to her head and threatened to kill her, Officer Royval said.

Ms. Zeppa said she was choked and bitten by Mr. Johnson before escaping and running to the parking lot, where she was met by Chattanooga police, Officer Royval said.

She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
